By the end of the class, we read a bunch of poems and learned about:
Rhyme Scheme - the pattern of syllables at the end of the line
Image - something a writer uses to write about in a poem
We also learned how to read a poem when we read Rock Tea by Gary Gildner.
Finally, we got some homework on this awesome poem by Ogden Nash:
The Termite
Some Primal Termite knocked on wood
and tasted it and found it good
And that is why your Cousin May
Fell through the parlor floor today
